About Me
In November of 2000 because of an untimely death, Ms. Perrot (founder was given an extra responsibility of having to raise her sister’s nine (9) children. Being a single mom herself, she took on the additional responsibility of raising her sister’s children. The stable environment has helped several homeless children from the self confidence and trust that they needed to become productive members of society. Since 2000 Mrs. Perrot has taken in six (6) other homeless youths who were either friends or classmates to her four (4) children.
As, a result in 2003 a group of Business professionals got together with Loretta and helped her form the Kim Perrot, Vision of Life, Inc. out of concern for young people in the community facing crisies and to promote positive youth development.
The goals of the Kim Perrot, Vision of Life, Inc. are to; provide positive alternatives for youth, ensure their safety, and maximize their potential to take advantage of available opportunities.
Youth development approach suggest that helping all young people achieve their full potential is the best way to prevent them from becoming involved in risky behavior. Youth development strategies focus on giving young people the chance to build skills, exercise leadership, from relationships with caring adults, and help their communities. Further, the youths are resources in rebuilding communities and that helping young people requires strengthening families and communities. The self-confidence trust and practical knowledge that young people gain from these opportunities help them grow into healthy, happy, self-sufficient adults.
